Distributed Tracing Coverage Audit overview

Audits the completeness and correctness of distributed tracing across the service mesh — verifying that every service propagates trace context headers, checking span naming and attribute conventions against the OpenTelemetry semantic spec, identifying services with broken or missing parent-span links, measuring sampling-rate adequacy for long-tail latency debugging, and validating that traces are queryable end-to-end in the backend. Produces a tracing coverage heatmap and instrumentation gap list. Excludes trace-backend capacity planning.
