Durable organizational knowledge, memory systems, retrieval, indexing, provenance, and semantic/graph access paths shared by humans and agents.
summary
The knowledge fabric is the shared organizational brain for humans and
agents. It includes durable learned memory, source-of-truth corpora,
semantic facts, project conventions, user and team preferences, decision
logs, incident histories, code indexes, knowledge graphs, vector indexes,
retrieval pipelines, provenance, confidence, temporal invalidation, and
privacy-aware recall.
This layer intentionally uses the knowledge-fabric name rather than a
separate company-brain layer. Memory systems belong here when they extract,
consolidate, retain, invalidate, and retrieve learned organizational state.
Source corpora and retrieval pipelines also belong here when they ground or
verify that state. Per-turn context windows and compaction remain runtime
concerns, not durable knowledge-fabric concerns.

- Extract, store, consolidate, deduplicate, and retrieve durable memories and organizational facts.
- Index and embed documents, code, decisions, conversations, incidents, and data sources.
- Provide semantic search, graph traversal, hybrid retrieval, and context-aware grounding.
- Maintain provenance, confidence, staleness, temporal invalidation, retention, and evidence metadata.
- Filter secrets and privacy-sensitive data before durable storage or recall.
- Scope knowledge and memory at session, project, user, team, organization, and cross-agent levels.

memory and knowledge usage.
